BANGKOK, April 24 (TNA) - It's love match, say the tennis fans, a marriage made in heaven -- and the glitter reached to the heavens as Thai tennis ace Paradorn Srichaphan and Canadian Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova announced their engagement here.
Showers of diamonds, shooting stars it seemed, graced the Sukhothai Hotel as a stunning diamond necklace and matched earrings totaling 16 karats was the surprise gift from the Srichaphan family for the Canadian beauty queen. More than 300 reporters from all media swarmed into the ballroom of the Sukhothai Hotel to witness the very special moment when the tennis player graciously placed the sparkling diamond necklace around his fiancee's neck and earrings on her ears. A tired but happy Paradorn was visably nervous -- he said he hadn't slept -- as he presented the jewels, revealed that he had proposed to the Russian-born Canadian beauty queen while they spent the Songkran holidays together in Bali, Indonesia.

Seeing the tennis player kneeling, the beauty queen said 'Yes,' four times before allowing him to place the 3-karat diamond ring onto her finger. The two stars said they plan to tie the knot in November, but they have yet to consult with their families before fixing their wedding day. Natalie's parents flew to Bangkok directly last Sunday from the United States where they have been living to take part in the festive occasion. (TNA)-E002
